A Workshop Series for Center Lakes Shoreline Owners

Our lakes are one of the greatest assets of the Center Lakes community — supporting recreation, wildlife, and water quality we all depend on. One of the most effective ways to protect this shared resource starts right at the shoreline.

Healthy Shores = Healthy Lakes is a three‑part workshop series designed to help lakeshore owners create shorelines that are both functional and beautiful, while improving long‑term lake health. Hosted by the Chisago SWCD, Lower St. Croix Watershed Partnership, and the East Metro Water Resource Education Program, the series provides local, practical guidance tailored to our lakes.

What You’ll Learn

  • Workshop 1 (April 28, 6–7 PM): Why natural shorelines work and how they improve water clarity, reduce erosion, and support wildlife

  • Workshop 2 (May 20, 5–7:30 PM): How to design a shoreline that balances access, views, and ecology — including one‑on‑one mini consultations

  • Workshop 3 (Fall 2026): Hands‑on guidance for installing plants and understanding what to expect the first year

Natural shorelines don’t mean losing views or lake access. They mean smarter design, stronger shorelines, and healthier water — benefits that extend to the entire lake.

Participation in earlier workshops is required for later sessions. Space may be limited.

Together, we can protect the lakes we love — one shoreline at a time.
